Helping San Diego breastfeeding families get off to the right start is our speciality.  Whether you are looking for prenatal breastfeeding education or have been faced with a breastfeeding challenge, we are here to help. Most PPO plans cover these visits with little to no cost to your family!

Prenatal Planning and Support: 

The best way to treat breastfeeding issues is to prevent them! This 60 minute prenatal consultation is designed to educate and prepare your family for breastfeeding. The appointment is customized to your specific needs and concerns. Prenatal consults include a health history evaluation to identify any potential breastfeeding roadblocks so we can make a care plan to over come these obstacle successfully.  

In-home Postpartum Visit:

We believe every parent deserves a follow-up on arriving home with their newborn. Whether it’s to answer questions about latch, provide reassurance or advice about your newborn’s weight gain, or to help with pain, we are here to ease the stress of those early days. Ideally we have met prenatally to provide guidance and are a familiar face. Either way, text anytime 24/7 at (619) 567-8146 to let us know your baby is here and we will schedule to see you soon!

The initial 90 minute consultation includes a full feeding assessment, weight check with a pediatric scale, and written individual plan of care created specifically for you. At times, more than one consultation will be needed, but many issues are resolved in as little as one to two visits.

Many families need breastfeeding assistance within 3-5 days postpartum. Book a postpartum consultation in advance for peace of mind that a Certified Lactation Consultant will be there to answer any questions you may have when your little one arrives. Booking in advance gives you the best start towards a beautiful breastfeeding journey.

We schedule your first visit after baby to be a little longer to get a good picture of how you and baby are doing. That first postpartum visit is scheduled and billed as an initial visit at $225, even if you have a prenatal visit.

Insurance Coverage

• We are contracted with Lactation Network to provide breastfeeding support with no out of pocket cost for several PPO insurance plans. Please see https://go.lactationnetwork.com/NightandDaySanDiego and enter your insurance information for verification.

• We are proudly in network with UCSD Managed Care! UCSD Managed Care requires approval prior to visit. For all other insurances we will gladly provide you with a super bill to request reimbursement from your insurance carrier.

We are a complete mobile practice serving most of San Diego including north and south areas. There is a $40-$60 travel fee for some locations. For many of our clients, that is the only out of pocket cost!
